LASER/MEDICAL SERVICES PRE & POST INSTRUCTIONS

VERY IMPORTANT PLEASE READ TO THE END

Pre-Treatment Instructions:

3 DAYS BEFORE treatment: AVOID topical products such as Tretinoin (Retin-A), Retinols, Retinoids, Glycolic Acid, Alpha Hydroxy Acid, Salicylic Acid, or other “anti-aging”, “acne”, and “bleaching” products. Also AVOID waxing, bleaching, tweezing, or the use of hair removal cream on the area to be treated.

Inform your provider if you have a history of Facial and/or Nasal Herpes to receive advice on antiviral therapy prior to treatment. Please call our office if you need our Dr. to call in an anti viral before at least 72 hours before your appointment.

You can not have a chemical peel, laser treatment or any other medical service if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or allergic to any of its ingredients. Please inform your provider if you have any questions about products being used, prior to the treatment.
Day of Treatment:

Try to arrive to the office with your face clean of makeup.
Immediately After Treatment:

Following your visit:
-
We recommend you don't touch your face or apply make up the same day as most services. While some treatments will not be effected if make up is applied, your skin will be compromised so we do not recommend it. You may wash your face in the evening with a gentle cleanser. We recommend ruth Treatments Honey Hyaluronic or Eminence Stone Crop Cleanser.

If receiving a chemical peel do not wet your skin for 4 hours ad if done after 4 pm, do not touch your skin on the treated area until the following day.

*If you experience extreme discomfort following any treatment you may take ibuprofen. If you feel like you're having any sort of reaction you can take a Benadryl and notify our office immediately.

AVOID UV exposure for treatments like a chemical peel or laser treatment of any kind While some treatments like a micro needle, don't use any light and do not make your skin photo sensitive like a chemical peel or IPL treatment, we still recommend staying away from direct sun for long periods of time during your healing process of 2 weeks. .

You may experience some tenderness of the face that can last for a few hours or a few days.

Redness and swelling are normal.

AVOID exercise or strenuous activities (with the exception of light walking) for the first 24 to 48 hours following treatment. Once you feel comfortable returning to your regular workouts, it is safe to do so.

Avoid hot tubs and saunas of any kind for 24 - 48 hours.

The Next Day After Treatment:
-
Wash face with a gentle cleanser using your hands only. No exfoliating.
-
AVOID using a Clarisonic® or any facial brushes or devices for a minimum of 5 to 7 days.

Gently pat dry skin after wetting or washing.
-
Apply a zinc based sunscreen daily. Not just what's on your makeup/ We recommend Elta MD UV sunscreen.

You may apply on this day. It may still feel uncomfortable to have makeup on. Dryness and itching is normal. However, it is safe to apply make up of you choose to do so.

You may work out if you feel it will not irritate the area treated. We recommend avoiding Hot Yoga or any sauna workout, or workout with a lot of motions that require your head to go below your heart, for 3-4 days following your treatment.

Skin may feel compromised for up to 10 days following a treatment. We recommend using gentle post care products like the Truth Treatments Omega 6 Healing Cream and the Honey Hyaluronic Face Wash during this time.

Do not pick or pull on any flaking or pealing skin. After a chemical peel, skin is most likely to peel days 3-5 and lightly flake for an additional 2-3 days. Let the skin shed as its own rate.

After any peeling or sluffing off of your skin, your skin may look or feel like a mild windburn for the next 2 to 3 days. This is ormal and it is new fresh skin. This skin must be kept out of the sun completely.

Avoid glycolic acids, Vitamin C, scrubs, Tretinoin (Retin-A), and Retinol creams for 10-14 days following any exfoliating treatment. After your skin is fully healed, it is safe to go about your regular routine. .

Absolutely no tanning beds for 1 month after any treatment.

No direct sun exposure for 10-14 days.

Wait a minimum of 3 to 4 weeks (or as directed by your provider) before receiving any additional skin care or laser treatments.

Call the office if you have questions or concerns.

You can never be too safe when it comes to your skin, so NEVER hesitate to send a picture, call or text us if you have any questions EVEN AFTER BUSINESS HOURS. That’s what we’re here for.
In the case of an emergency if it pertinent you contact our clinic. We always have a Dr. on call. In the rare case of an emergency, it is very important we see you in our clinic or Marissa (owner) to resolve this issue.
